• Concept of BC and AD consider Christ birth as 0 ,BC has -ve numbers and AD as positive numbers on a number line.  

• Ø 2800 BC : Indus Valley Civilization.

• They came from West Asia (Persia) because there was lot of fertile land and fresh water. 5000 years old civilization. Architecture, big structures, stadium can be seen on ancient sites. It was quite well developed and people were urbanized.

• Ø Then came Harrappa-Mohen-ju-daro Civ. 

• Aryans came from West Asia in 2000 BC. They moved further and found Gangetic plains, snow fed rivers offering plenty of water and fertile land.

• Ganga i.e. why have so much value in our lives since thn. 1/10th of world's population depends upon Ganga.

• Protection of Himalayas allowed Aryans to flourish

• They were agragarian. Around 1400-1000 bc, Reega Veda was composed. It is a collection of prayers. Human use to pray all the natural resources which are out of his control and names it as God. e.g. Sun God, Moon God, Air God.

• 900-800 BC later Vedas like Sama, Adharv were written They talk about Hinduism, culture and religion. and considered to be the oldest such scripts.. much older to Islam or Christianity.

ü  It was only our civilization which founded and questioned the existence and purpose of our lives!

They says It is the knowledge for which we have born' and also says God is one. 'Ekam

• Ø ‎600 BC urbanization started in eastern India (bengal, bihar side) and cities like Patiputra were founded. 

• Mahaveer born after Budha (563 BC, Lumbini, Kapilavastu now in Nepal)

• 537-509 Cyrus, Persian invaded. (First outside invasion on India)

• 327 BC Alexander came to India.

• 500 BC Ramayana was composed. Ramayana is a book which is composed of picking all the vedas and making them together as an epic. It is difficult to believe that just one man have wrote such a beautiful book. It needs time more than a life to write.

•  ‎400 BC Mahabharata was composed.

• ‎542-491 Bhimisara was the king of Magadha (capital :Patiputra)

• Bhimisara was the first king who spreaded Budhism.

• mahavasya wrote patanjali, Pannini (born in 500 bc) wrote Asthdyay.

• ‎321 BC: Maurya Dynasty founded by CG Maurya. His guru and prime minister Chanakya wrote Arthshastra which is applicable till date and is one of the best works of Indians. Chanakya is among most intelligent humans India has ever produced.

• 273-232 BC Ashoka ruled.

• CG Maurya --> Bindusara --> Ashoka (major Mauryan rulers and dynasty)
